Consisting of Trolamina and 75% of water, the BiafineAct emulsion creates and maintains a humid climate favorable to the cure of superficial and small burns, including sunburns.
Biafine, an emulsion composed of 75% of water, brings the water into the dermis and the thicker the applied layer, the greater the amount of hydration.
BiafineAct brings a calming sensation since the first application; It should be applied in a thick layer until the skin is discarded and should be repeated two to four times a day.
As its formula causes a semi-occlusive effect, BiafineAct isolates the lesion from exogenous contaminations and controls the loss of water by perspiration.
BIAFINE is indicated for use in:
BIAFINE is contraindicated for use on bleeding wounds, skin rashes related to food or medicine allergies, and when an allergy to one of the ingredients is known.
Treatment of superficial and small burns, including localized sunburn: apply in a thick layer until skin refuses. Get penetrated by a light massage.
Renew 2 to 4 times a day.
Uninfected skin wounds: after cleaning the wound, apply a thick layer far beyond the surface of the lesion and reapply to always maintain a surplus of emulsion on the lesion.
Warning: Biafine is not a moisturizer to be used everyday as a day cream as this could weaken the skin in the long term.
+BIAFINE contains purified water, liquid paraffin, ethylene glycol monostearate, stearic acid, propylene glycol, paraffin wax, squalane, avocado oil, trolamine/sodium alginate, triethanolamine, cetyl palmitate, methylparaben (sodium salt), sorbic acid (potassium salt), propylparaben (sodium salt), and fragrance.

The French chemist Wenmaekers developed the BIAFINE® formula in 1971 for his daughter-in-law, who had incurred burn injuries. She was so impressed by the soothing effect of the emulsion that she decided to introduce the formula to hospital. This is how the product was officially marketed in France with effect from 1976. Since then, the medicinal product BIAFINE® Emulsion has been handed on from generation to generation.
My dermatologist first introduced me to this product and I thought that I had to get a prescription in order to get it, I was so happy that I found it on this website. I have super sensitive skin that blisters and gets inflamed with the slightest exposure to the sun or any unknown irritant. This is the only thing that calms and heals the redness and protects any open wounds from infection.
I’ve been using this for sunburns and minor scrapes and burns since my old bosses had brought it back from St. Barths years ago. Super excited I can get it online now. Don’t hesitate, best product ever, especially for sunburns.
sun burns and scalds are quickly healed. i have been using this since 1996.
This product is incredible. I ordered biafine to have in hand for any burns, small cuts, abrasion and I put it to use recently. My son plays on turf and sometimes he scrapes his lets and ends with a type of burn: Biafine took care of the ugly burn looking scrape his had this past week. It healed within days! This is definitely a must have!!!!
Soothes irritated sensitive skin. Improves appearance as well
I've used the product on my face after a sunburn as well as on my hand on an old burn scar. They both look noticeably better and feel hydrated.
I absolutely love this cream. I got 2nd degree burns on my hand and this cream brought my color back 100%. You cannot even tell. Highly recommend for any burns/new scars.
I recently heard an online derm influencer scoffing at this product because it’s ‘been around forever’ and ‘is nothing new’. Well it’s new to me! With summer coming up, my body always gets a little sunburned when I first begin gardening. I’m looking forward to seeing how this works on the sunburn (although not looking forward to the sunburn itself 😬).
