Consisting of Trolamina and 75% of water, the BiafineAct emulsion creates and maintains a humid climate favorable to the cure of superficial and small burns, including sunburns.
Biafine, an emulsion composed of 75% of water, brings the water into the dermis and the thicker the applied layer, the greater the amount of hydration.
BiafineAct brings a calming sensation since the first application; It should be applied in a thick layer until the skin is discarded and should be repeated two to four times a day.
As its formula causes a semi-occlusive effect, BiafineAct isolates the lesion from exogenous contaminations and controls the loss of water by perspiration.
BIAFINE is indicated for use in:
BIAFINE is contraindicated for use on bleeding wounds, skin rashes related to food or medicine allergies, and when an allergy to one of the ingredients is known.
Treatment of superficial and small burns, including localized sunburn: apply in a thick layer until skin refuses. Get penetrated by a light massage.
Renew 2 to 4 times a day.
Uninfected skin wounds: after cleaning the wound, apply a thick layer far beyond the surface of the lesion and reapply to always maintain a surplus of emulsion on the lesion.
Warning: Biafine is not a moisturizer to be used everyday as a day cream as this could weaken the skin in the long term.
+BIAFINE contains purified water, liquid paraffin, ethylene glycol monostearate, stearic acid, propylene glycol, paraffin wax, squalane, avocado oil, trolamine/sodium alginate, triethanolamine, cetyl palmitate, methylparaben (sodium salt), sorbic acid (potassium salt), propylparaben (sodium salt), and fragrance.

The French chemist Wenmaekers developed the BIAFINE® formula in 1971 for his daughter-in-law, who had incurred burn injuries. She was so impressed by the soothing effect of the emulsion that she decided to introduce the formula to hospital. This is how the product was officially marketed in France with effect from 1976. Since then, the medicinal product BIAFINE® Emulsion has been handed on from generation to generation.
